GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS EXECUTIVE

World Rugby is the world governing and law-making body for the sport of Rugby Union based in Dublin and London. In addition to its governance functions World Rugby organises a number of international tournaments and events including the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027, U20s Championship, WXV competition, World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup, and the annual HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.


OBJECTIVE

World Rugby wishes to appoint a Global Partnerships Executive reporting to a Global Partnerships Account Manager in London. This role will be responsible for account management and delivery of activations by Rugby World Cup 2025 and HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series partners and sponsors, as well as for liaising with the local organising committee.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Support the rights delivery of a portfolio of Rugby World Cup partners and official sponsors
  • Manage and lead the day-to-day relationships with Rugby World Cup official supporters and suppliers, e.g. status reports, rights matrix, reporting, finance, presentations, emails etc.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are delivered and optimised to create value for partners and World Rugby, e.g., unique promotions, trophy appearances, tickets etc.
  • Develop authentic professional and personal relationships with Partners, agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Support the Global Partnerships Manager to establish a clear long-term strategic plan for each partner which delivers against their individual objectives as well as World Rugby’s strategic priorities.
  • Help execute the partner’s marketing plan with an integrated approach with all World Rugby stakeholders, driving high standards of execution, e.g., announcement planning, campaign planning, approval of RWC brand etc.
  • Check and approve creative and marketing materials in good time to ensure campaign and distribution deadlines are achieved
  • Ensure that all World Rugby departments (communications, digital, marketing, ticketing, finance and commercial) and agencies are engaged with the partnerships
  • Liaise and co-ordinate all partner ticketing requests with RWC ticketing team
  • Support delivery of the RWC partner hospitality programme
  • Ensure that meetings, debriefs and reviews take place on a regular basis
  • Manage the reporting progress with internal teams and external agencies to demonstrate ROI to the partner and the business
  • Support the delivery of RWC 2025 partner onboarding sessions and workshops
  • Ensure direct line manager are regularly briefed on all major developments and initiatives that concern the partner relationships and promotional activities

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 years’ credible and relevant experience servicing client accounts (global events or sports sponsorship experience advantageous)
  • Experience in PR, marketing and event management is essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports marketing is essential (ideally in rugby)
  • Experience in managing relationships across different geographies, cultures and time zones
