Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a passionate individual who is eager to make an impact in the sports industry and thrive in a dynamic team environment as a Head of Licensing, FIBA Marketing for 1 year.

The Head of Licensing is responsible for developing and executing strategies to maximize the brand’s revenue and visibility through product licensing, retail partnerships, and merchandise sales. This leadership role is pivotal in managing brand extensions across consumer products and ensuring alignment with the sports organization’s identity and fan engagement goals.

Your main tasks

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive licensing and merchandising strategy aligned with brand and commercial goals
  • Identify growth opportunities across domestic and international markets
  • Set annual revenue targets and manage budgets


Licensing Management:

  • Oversee all licensing agreements with third-party manufacturers and distributors
  • Identify and secure new licensees across product categories (e.g., apparel, collectibles, video games)
  • Ensure brand compliance and quality control in all licensed products
  • Negotiate licensing contracts and renewals


Retail & E-Commerce:

  • Manage retail partnerships and club-operated stores (physical and online)
  • Drive initiatives to increase fan engagement and sales through merchandise
  • Optimize supply chain and inventory management processes


Merchandising:

  • Lead the development of merchandise collections for retail and e-commerce platforms.
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and retail teams to create compelling product assortments
  • Analyze sales performance and consumer trends to optimize product offerings


Brand & Product Management:

  • Maintain brand integrity across all licensed and merchandise products
  • Work closely with internal marketing and brand teams to ensure consistency in messaging and design
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity


Your profile

  • You bring a minimum 6-8 years of experience in licensing and/or merchandising, preferably in the sports, entertainment, or consumer goods sectors
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (a Master's is a plus)
  • You have a strong understanding of licensing models, retail operations, and e-commerce
  • You demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • You have a proven track record in negotiating contracts and managing high-value partnerships
  • You possess experience working with sports clubs, leagues, or federations
  • You have strong analytical and commercial acumen, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • You bring global licensing experience and familiarity with international markets
  • You are fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
