The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) is the governing body for international skiing and snowboarding. Founded in 1924 during the first Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix, France, and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), FIS manages the Olympic disciplines of Alpine Skiing, Nordic Combined, Cross-Country, Ski Jumping, Freestyle, and Snowboard, including setting the international competition rules. FIS is also recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and manages Para Alpine Skiing, Para CrossCountry and Para Snowboard. Through its 140 member National Ski Associations (NSAs), more than 7,000 FIS competitions are staged annually. The federation oversees World Cup competitions and biannual World Championships.

We are looking for a motivated and well-organized Coordinator to support our Sports Departments. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth experience in an international sports organization and contribute to the coordination and development of various snow sport disciplines.

As a Coordinator for the Sports Departments, you will work closely with the respective discipline managers and contribute to the planning, administration, and delivery of seasonal and strategic initiatives. You will support cross-functional collaboration with colleagues from other departments and units (e.g., events, education, communication), and liaise with both national and international stakeholders to help ensure smooth operations and continued development within our sport structures.

Key responsibilities (depending on the profile):

Administrative & Project Coordination

• Support the FIS Sport and Event Director in the daily work and taking over general sports projects

• Handle communication between national and international stakeholders

• Organize and support meetings, training sessions, and competition events

• Maintain and update discipline-specific data, reports, and documentation

• Assist in budgeting and tracking of expenditures for assigned disciplines

Discipline Support

• Provide operational and administrative support for the disciplines Telemark, Speed Skiing, Grass Skiing, Masters, and Freeride

• Assist with seasonal planning and coordination (winter and summer seasons)

• Support the preparation and follow-up of season kick-offs and wrap-ups

• Coordinate inclusion strategies in line with FIS guidelines, especially in the Freeride sector.

Coordinate meetings of the Technical Committees across various disciplines, including Telemark, Speed Skiing, Grass Skiing, Masters, the Sub-Committee for University Racers, the Sub-Committee for Alpine Citizen Racers, and the FIS Women’s Committee.

Event & Logistics Management

• Collaborate closely with local organizing committees and other event partners

• Manage equipment and travel planning as required

Profile:

• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with attention to detail

• Experience in sports administration or event/project coordination

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure

• Excellent communication skills in English and German (both written and spoken); French is an asset

• Independent, proactive, and team-oriented work ethic

• Flexibility to travel occasionally and work irregular hours during event seasons

• Passion for sports and familiarity with winter disciplines is highly desirable
