The World Football Remission Fund is a sub-fund of the FIFA Foundation, established with monies awarded to FIFA, Concacaf and CONMEBOL by the US Department of Justice as compensation for the damage caused to football by those convicted of bribery and corruption offences in the United States. The role of Administrator is a key function to ensure the efficient operation of the WFRF in accordance with its Regulations and the requirements of Swiss Foundation Law.

THE POSITION

These are your key tasks:


  • Acting as the key contact person for WFRF board members in the execution of their duties

  • Acting as the key contact person for FIFA, CONMEBOL and Concacaf staff members

  • Organising the board meetings of WFRF and observing the necessary formalities such as notice, agenda, etc. and ensuring the board members are provided with all necessary documentation

  • Taking minutes of all board meetings as well as signing the minutes together with the chair of the meeting

  • Preparing the required documents in connection with decisions to be taken by the board, including by way of circulation

  • Reviewing project proposals prior to submission and assisting Founders to ensure that their proposals are complete and comply with the WFRF Regulations

  • Archiving all relevant documents and sharing these documents with FIFA

  • Supporting FIFA's representative of the Fund Board in the development of appropriate project proposals

  • Ensuring inspection and auditing of the progress of the supported projects and reporting to the board in relation to the same

  • Updating the Governance Audit & Compliance Working Group on a regular basis as to the activities of the World Football Remission Fund and providing the group with information in relation to specific projects, including the inspections and audits undertaken in the preceding quarter

  • Preparing reports for any other relevant bodies or authorities as and when required

  • Liaising with external providers in relation to the management of the World Football Remission Fund, including auditors, bankers, lawyers and other professional advisers

  • Implementing processes/mechanisms to make sure that the World Football Remission Fund is run efficiently and in line with Fund Regulations, the FIFA Code of Ethics and the instructions of the Fund Board

  • Reporting regularly on the performance of the Services to the Deputy of Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

The specific competencies we require for this position are:


  • University Bachelors degree or higher, with a focus on legal, accounting or business matters

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a large institution or company in a role focused on the management of complex projects

  • Focus on governance and compliance

  • Experience with audit processes

  • Providing support to and communicating with senior executives and those in leadership positions

  • International football administration experience a significant advantage

  • Experience of FIFA Forward and/or other sports funding programmes an advantage

  • Strong organizational skills for managing complex administrative tasks

  • Good understanding of legal and financial environments as well as governance and compliance considerations

  • Effective oral and written communication with internal and external stakeholders

  • Financial acumen in budgeting, accounting, controlling, and reporting

  • Robust personality capable of cooperating with authorities and institutions

  • Comfortable with different cultures and able to navigate political environments

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is an asset but not a requirement

  • Proficient in Word / PowerPoint / Excel

  • Willing to travel; some international travel may be required and occasional attendance at FIFA's offices in Zurich and Miami
