Essential Functions and Job/Position Summary:

The Digital Engagement Lead will oversee and manage all web, mobile and social initiatives. This includes developing an overall social media strategy for the region, working with the fan acquisition and engagement team to drive brand awareness online, revenue opportunities, content generation and management of social media agencies and freelancers.


Major Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an overall social media strategy for the region to drive brand awareness, fan acquisition, engagement, conversions and revenues for the business
  • Grow and expand social media presence onto new social media platforms, plus increase presence on existing platforms
  • Develop and nurture revenue and business opportunities related to our digital operations, primarily across social platforms. These may include, but are not limited to, advertising, sponsorship, or influencer marketing.
  • Create social media campaigns for the season across priority markets (Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia), including budget planning, content strategy, implementation schedules, event coverage and influencer campaigns
  • Manage the communication of the NBA’s daily storylines and messaging, including the latest league and team news and features
  • Oversee and audit editorial quality, effectiveness and results applying qualitative and quantitative techniques to establish quality benchmarks and produce optimal editorial and marketing content
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the content strategy across all platforms to ensure that partners are operating within the established guidelines, standards and style guides to ensure brand consistency
  • Develop an influencer strategy and nurture relationship with a wide network of influencers throughout Asia to create content which will reach new fans
  • Nurture the relationship with each partner by communicating any needs or questions from partners to the NBA and provide technical support to local partners when needed
  • Work with the NY office and local partners to develop, launch and execute new digital products, services and associated marketing campaigns
  • Grow sustainable source of digital revenues. Build up monetization of digital channels, measure and analyze ROI
  • Develop/enhance digital analytics reports and make recommendations for improvement in usability, content development and promotion
  • Drive innovation on NBA and partner channels through new initiatives. Report on results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Run operations of the social media team (1 person to manage) and manage social/digital/media agencies and freelancers in the region.

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
  • The Digital Engagement Lead is a highly motivated, creative individual with management experience and a passion for engaging with fans on a daily basis with the goal of turning fans into customers
  • Demonstrable experience with social media management tools and platforms; developing social media strategies, influencer marketing
  • Knowledge of the local market basketball audience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with proven experience on writing, editing and crafting content for social media
  • Fluency in English and at least one additional language (Japanese or Bahasa Indonesia language ability are preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience as a digital marketing professional for multinational corporations or B2C brands.
