Join us this Thursday, November 26th, at 5pm CET, for another episode of the iWorkinSport LIVE Interview series.
In this episode, we will talk with Mario Medeiros, Executive Commercial Director at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
The Brazilian Mario Medeiros’s involvement in sport started at early age, as he’s a former high-level swimmer. In 2002 he graduated in journalism, but just a few years after that he had already moved to sports administration and became the CEO of a professional volleyball team in Brazil.
With views to expanding his career internationally, Mario volunteered to work at the FIFA World Cup 2006 and Germany, and a few years later returned to Europe to enrol in the AISTS’s masters in sports management.
He then joined the Rio Olympic Games Organising Committee and in 2014 went back to Switzerland as the FIVB Commercial Director. In addition to his master in sports management he also holds a Certification in Strategic Negotiations granted by Harvard Business School.
At Rio 2016 and FIVB, Mario was responsible for negotiating and securing several sponsorship deals, worth multiple hundreds of millions of dollars.
If you want to learn about sponsorship and how to grow in your career in general, don’t miss the interview with Mario!
p.s. we also must say that Mario is a die-hard Atlético Mineiro fan and that his career dream is to become the club's President one day. :-)
