Today we present the eighth of eleven categories in The Most Attractive Employers in Sport survey results - the Top 20 Most Attractive Governing Bodies.
The list includes a mix of national, continental and international governing bodies across a wide variety of sports. Arguably the three biggest and most esteemed sports governing bodies - the IOC, FIFA and UEFA - all appear on the list. You can also find the other major continental football governing bodies for South America, North and Central America, Africa and Asia. Governing the fast-growing sport, both in popularity and value, of cricket, the International Cricket Council also appears on the list. The national governing bodies of football from Germany, France, Italy, England and Spain all have a place in the Top 20, and traditionally strong and well-recognized international governing bodies World Athletics (formerly IAAF), UCI (cycling) and Volleybally World (FIVB) also appear.
The list is the result of a study conducted by iWorkinSport, which surveyed more than 1,500 people from all continents, with the majority already working in sport, and asked them a simple question: “If you could choose to work anywhere in sport, where would that be?”
At first, the respondents chose organisations divided into ten categories and, at the end, they indicated one single preferred choice, overall – the “Employer of their Dreams”.
