Top 20 Football Clubs - The Most Attractive Employers in Sport 2024

It’s that time of the year again! Today we start publishing the shortlists for the 2024 Most Attractive Employers in Sport Awards, which will take place in Lausanne on June 4th, as part of the iWorkinSport Job Fair.

From now until the end of May, we will publish, every other day, a list of the Top 20 (and then the Top 10) sports organisations named as the Most Attractive Employers in Sport, in 10 different categories.

We kick off the list with Football Clubs. Unsurprisingly, European clubs dominated the 2024 Most Attractive Employers in Sport Survey. England landed six teams in the Top 20, while Spain and Italy landed four each. Germany had two teams on the shortlist, while France, the Netherlands and Wales each had one. Yes, that’s correct: Wales. Apparently, the massive exposure created by its acquisition by Hollywood celebrities, plus the television docuseries, has contributed to make Wrexham AFC one of the most attractive football clubs for those seeking to work in sport. The lone non-European team, marking its first appearance in the list is Al Nassr, recently experiencing a rise in profile after the signing of Portuguese star Christiano Ronaldo.

The list is the result of a study conducted by iWorkinSport, which surveyed more than 1,600 people from 83 countries representing all continents, with the majority already working in sport, and asked them a simple question: “If you could choose to work anywhere in sport, where would that be?”

At first, the respondents chose organisations divided into ten categories and, at the end, they indicated one single preferred choice, overall – the “Employer of their Dreams”.

The final rankings of the iWorkinSport Most Attractive Employers 2024 will be announced at an Awards ceremony at the Olympic Museum, in Lausanne, on June 4th, at a VIP dinner offered to recruiters and academic partners of the iWorkinSport Job Fair, which will take place the following day in Lausanne.
