Five Olympic Organising Committees in the Top 20 Most Attractive Employers, among Sports Event Organisers

Five Organising Committees of the Olympic Games appear in a list of the Top 20 Most Attractive Event Organisers for professionals who work or want to work in sport, according to a survey conducted by iWorkinSport.

The five Games in the list are: Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024, Los Angeles 2028 (Summer), Beijing 2022 and Milano Cortina 2026 (Winter). The Commonwealth Games of Birmingham 2022 also appear in the list, alongside two FIFA World Cups (2022 and 2026), the four tennis Grand Slams, the three main cycling tours, two rugby events and one major event in sailing, golf and motorsport.

The study surveyed more than a thousand people from all continents, with the majority already working in sport, and asked them a simple question: “If you could choose to work anywhere in sport, where would that be?” 

At first, the respondents chose organisations divided into nine categories, and at the end, they indicated one single preferred choice, overall – the “Employer of their Dreams”.

The survey, conducted from mid-December 2020 to mid-February 2021, had more than 1,000 respondents, from 86 countries, with 92% having at least a bachelor degree and 62% with postgraduate education, while 68% already work in sport. Detailed demographics data will be available in the report.
