LOCATION - this role will travel around the UK between the 8 host locations


Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament. World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event.


Ambitions for the tournament are at an all-time high as women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world. Women’s RWC 2025 will be the ultimate stage for the best players, teams and coaches from 16 nations across the globe and is set to be the biggest and most widely watched women's rugby event ever. Women’s RWC 2025 Team Services are looking to appoint one Team Liaison Officer (TLO) and one Assistant Team Liaison Officer (ATLO) to each of the 16 participating teams. Reporting to the Team Pool Coordinator (TPC), the TLO will be the main point of contact between the Team and RWC 2025 with support from an ATLO, in order to assist the teams as they compete in the tournament and to help ensure that the Terms of Participation, policies and procedures are adhered to.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Act as a representative and ambassador for RWC 2025, acting as the main point of contact between the Team, RWC 2025 LOC and World Rugby, and assisting the Team Manager in ensuring the Terms of Participation, policies and procedures of the Tournament are adhered to.
  • Meet as required with the Team Manager in order to ensure the requirements of the Team are met in an efficient and timely manner and act to ensure any issues are resolved in line with stated procedures.
  • Support the Team Manager and Team as directed in order to ensure that any accommodation, catering, training, travel and logistical services are provided to a standard commensurate with the Tournament.
  • Confirm the Team’s daily transport schedule with the Team Manager and support with Team movements by driving team fleet vehicles and the kit van where needed.
  • Liaise on a daily basis with RWC2025 Team Services to provide updates, resolve issues and assist in forward-planning as required.

Experience & knowledge you’ll need:
  • Previous experience of operating in a high-performance sport or team environment
  • Able to rapidly build and maintain professional, trusting and working relationships with team members, organisers and stakeholders
  • Professional attitude and the ability to deal with confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Must be able to demonstrate a positive, flexible and hands-on approach, use initiative, resourcefulness and be pro-active
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure within a high profile and competitive environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Full driving licence valid in the UK
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK at time of application

Nice to Haves:
  • Previous experience of providing services to elite athletes
  • Previous TLO experience
  • Knowledge of rugby is desirable
  • Previous experience of working with people from different cultures
  • Ability to speak a second relevant language (Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Dutch)

AVAILABILITY

All successful applicants will need to be available for the full duration of the contract as well as having availability to attend the following recruitment and training sessions prior to the tournament:

In-person recruitment day (Twickenham) – 15th to 16th January 2025

Online Training (pm, 4 hours) – 7th May 2025

In-person training day (Twickenham) – 11th June 2025

Online Training (pm, 4 hours) – 9th July 2025

Tournament-time: 13th August to 29th September 2025 (latest)

Please note during the Tournament, the TLO / ATLO will reside in the Team Hotel and will be on-call and available at all reasonable times required by the TPC / Team. The TLO must be able to devote all of their time to the visiting team whilst they are in England. Working hours will include evenings and weekends, with early starts and late finishes.
